Dolan Delano Ahlquist

Dolan Delano Ahlquist, age 71, of Polk, Nebraska, passed away June 17, 2024 at his home in Polk A memorial service will be held Wednesday, June 26, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at Calvary Lutheran Church in Swede Home with Pastor Evan Christensen officiating. There will be no visitation. Orgaist will be Diana Johnson. A luncheon and fellowship will follow service at the church.

Dolan was born September 3, 1952 in York, Nebraska to Delano C. and Wanda M. (Thelander) Ahlquist. He attended school in Stromsburg and graduated from Stromsburg High School in 1971. He then attended community college for a short time. He was united in marriage to Linda Kay Grossnicklaus. To this union two children were born.

Dolan began working for Atlantic Homes in Central City and then Champion Homes in York in the molding, framing and drywall department. He moved to Polk in 1989 and retired in 2018 at the age of 65.

He was a member of the NRA. He enjoyed motorcycles, fishing, hunting with bow and rifle, trap shooting and R/C model planes.

Survivors include son Michael Ahlquist of Lincoln and daughter Amanda Nelson of Lincoln; three grandchildren; one sister Pamela Libratti of Loveland, CO; two brothers, Scott Ahlquist of Loveland, CO and Troy Ahlquist of Phoenix, AZ; and a host of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Memorials are suggested to the family to be designated later.
