  • Deputy Zarate (left) and Deputy McCracken (right) are the newest members of the Polk County Sheriff’s Office. Both have graduated from the 215th Nebraska Law Enforcement Training Center Basic Academy in Grand Island and are ready to serve the communities of Polk County. Deputy McCracken will be starting soon after a short ride-along period. Deputy Zarate will have a longer training period and brings bilingual skills to the department. Sheriff Dwayne Ladwig is still looking to hire three more deputies.
